NatroVital Organic Tulsi - 100ml Alcohol-Free Tincture

  • Tulsi (Ocimum tenuiflorum syn. Ocimum sanctum), also known as Holy Basil, is one of the most highly regarded herbs in traditional Ayurvedic medicine. It has traditionally been used to support the body and nervous system during periods of ongoing stress, nervous tension and mental or physical strain, particularly when prolonged pressure leaves a person feeling tense, mentally tired, overwhelmed or unable to properly switch off.

In Ayurveda, Tulsi is regarded as a rasayana and has traditionally been used to help the body cope during periods of increased physical, mental or emotional stress. Unlike heavier calming herbs, Tulsi is not considered strongly sedating, making it suitable for daytime use when stress support is needed without causing drowsiness.

Energetic qualities: In traditional herbal practice, Tulsi is considered warming, aromatic and slightly drying. Its warming and gently stimulating nature makes it particularly suited to periods of stress accompanied by mental fatigue, tension or feeling worn down by ongoing demands.

NatroVital Tulsi delivers this highly regarded traditional herb in a pure, alcohol-free liquid extract. Using organically grown Tulsi leaf, vegetable glycerine and purified Grander water, it provides a clean and convenient way to incorporate concentrated Tulsi into your daily routine without alcohol, artificial ingredients or unnecessary additives.

    How NatroVital Tulsi is Made

We begin with organic Tulsi leaf and use an alcohol extraction process to draw out its broad spectrum of naturally occurring plant compounds, including rosmarinic acid, eugenol, ursolic acid, flavonoids and other aromatic and polyphenolic constituents. This allows us to extract a wide range of compounds from the herb rather than relying on powdered leaf or an isolated standardised constituent.

After extraction, the alcohol is gently removed under vacuum at low temperatures to help preserve the integrity of the herb's naturally occurring constituents. The concentrated extract is then blended with vegetable glycerine and purified Grander water, producing a premium-quality alcohol-free liquid extract.

Tulsi has been valued for generations within Ayurvedic medicine as a restorative herb during periods of physical, mental and emotional strain. Its combination of aromatic oils, polyphenols, flavonoids and other naturally occurring compounds gives it a distinctive place amongst herbs traditionally used to support the nervous system and the body's response to ongoing stress.

Unlike tablets, capsules or powders containing bulk dried plant material, our liquid herbal extracts contain the compounds drawn from the herb during extraction. This provides a concentrated and easy-to-take form without synthetic binders, fillers, coatings or unnecessary additives.

Locally Made with Integrity: Every bottle of NatroVital Tulsi is proudly made here in Australia in small batches. As a small, independently owned business, we’re committed to local production, herbal purity and creating practitioner-grade extracts made with genuine care and respect for traditional plant medicine.

    Still have questions?

Read our Frequently Asked Questions for dosage information, common combinations and answers to the questions we're most often asked in clinic.

  • What is the recommended dosage for NatroVital Tulsi?
The daily adult dose is 5 mL, divided into two serves of 2.5 mL — one in the morning and one in the evening. One mL is approximately 20 drops. Add each dose to a small glass of water or juice, drink immediately, and swirl the glass to ensure any remaining liquid is also consumed. Dosages may vary depending on individual needs and practitioner guidance.
What We Often Combine with NatroVital Tulsi in Clinic

Tulsi can be combined with other NatroVital herbs and supplements depending on the type of stress or nervous-system support required:

    • For ongoing stress, tension and difficulty switching out of the stress response: Cortisol Calm.
    • For nervous tension, emotional sensitivity or feeling easily overwhelmed: NS Calm.
    • When prolonged stress is accompanied by tiredness or feeling physically depleted: Ashwagandha.

These combinations reflect traditional herbal practice and practitioner experience and can be adjusted according to individual needs.

    Does Tulsi make you sleepy?

Tulsi is not generally regarded as a heavy sedative herb. Traditionally, it has been used during the daytime to support the nervous system and help the body cope with ongoing stress or mental strain without causing drowsiness.

For people whose sleep is being affected by stress or difficulty switching off, supporting the stress response during the day may also help them settle more easily at night. Tulsi can therefore be taken either earlier in the day or divided between morning and evening depending on individual needs.

Is Tulsi the same as ordinary culinary basil?

No. Tulsi (Ocimum tenuiflorum) and the sweet basil commonly used in cooking (Ocimum basilicum) belong to the same botanical genus but are different plants with different medicinal properties.

Tulsi has its own distinctive aromatic profile and a long history of medicinal use within Ayurveda, particularly during periods of ongoing stress, nervous tension and mental or physical strain.

Why choose NatroVital over other supplement brands?

All NatroVital products are produced in small batches at our Australian facility. As a family-run business, we’re dedicated to creating honest, practitioner-formulated supplements you can trust.

Is NatroVital Tulsi formulated with any preservatives or artificial ingredients?
No. NatroVital Tulsi contains organic Tulsi leaf extract in vegetable glycerine and purified Grander water. It does not contain alcohol, artificial flavours, colourings, sweeteners or preservatives. It is also free from animal products, dairy, gluten, wheat, soy, nuts, yeast, corn and other common added allergens.
Is NatroVital Tulsi suitable for Vegans and Vegetarians?
Yes. NatroVital Tulsi is suitable for both Vegans and Vegetarians as it contains no animal-derived ingredients and is made solely from plant-based ingredients.
Are there any contraindications for using NatroVital Tulsi?

Tulsi (Ocimum tenuiflorum) is generally considered well tolerated when used within normal herbal dosages. However, several precautions may be relevant when using concentrated extracts.

Pregnancy and conception: Medicinal doses of Tulsi are generally avoided during pregnancy and when actively trying to conceive because adequate human safety information is unavailable and animal research has raised possible reproductive concerns.

Breastfeeding: There is insufficient information regarding the use of concentrated Tulsi extracts during breastfeeding.

Blood-sugar medication: Tulsi may influence blood-glucose levels. Those taking glucose-lowering medication should monitor their blood sugar when introducing concentrated Tulsi extracts.

Anticoagulant and antiplatelet medications: Tulsi may influence blood clotting. Caution may therefore be appropriate when taking anticoagulant or antiplatelet medication.

Surgery: Because of its potential influence on blood clotting and blood glucose, Tulsi is generally discontinued approximately two weeks before planned surgery.
