NatroVital Omega Care+ High Strength Omega-3 Fish Oil

  • Omega-3 fatty acids play an important role in human nutrition, yet many modern diets provide relatively low amounts of the long-chain omega-3 fats EPA and DHA. While oily fish such as sardines, anchovies and tuna naturally contain these beneficial fatty acids, they are not consumed regularly by many people.

NatroVital Omega Care+ provides a concentrated source of marine omega-3 fatty acids, delivering 500mg EPA and 260mg DHA per capsule. These essential fats become incorporated into cell membranes throughout the body and contribute to the normal function of cardiovascular, neurological and visual systems.

At Vitality and Wellness we prioritise supplements that provide clear dosing, transparent sourcing and reliable quality control. Omega Care+ fits this approach by delivering a meaningful omega-3 dose while maintaining strict standards for oil stability and purity.

    Why Omega-3 Intake Matters

EPA and DHA are classified as essential fatty acids because the body cannot produce them in meaningful amounts. They must therefore be obtained through dietary intake or supplementation.

These long-chain omega-3 fats are widely recognised for their role in supporting normal cardiovascular function, brain health, eye structure, joint comfort and the body's natural inflammatory balance.

Benefits of Omega Care+ Fish Oil

    • Cardiovascular Support: EPA and DHA contribute to normal heart function and circulation.
    • Brain and Cognitive Health: DHA is a major structural fat found within brain tissue and plays a role in normal cognitive performance.
    • Vision Support: DHA forms a key structural component of the retina and contributes to visual health.
    • Joint Comfort and Mobility: Omega-3 fatty acids help support comfortable joint movement as part of an active lifestyle.
    • Healthy Inflammatory Balance: EPA and DHA assist the body in maintaining its natural inflammatory response.
    • Cell Membrane Integrity: Omega-3 fats are incorporated into cell membranes throughout the body, supporting cellular structure and function.

What to Look for in a Quality Fish Oil

Not all fish oils are equal. While omega-3 content is important, the stability and purity of the oil are equally critical. Fish oil can degrade if oxidation is not properly controlled during processing and storage.

Omega Care+ is assessed against recognised industry markers that measure oxidation, oil breakdown and contaminant levels. These tests help confirm the oil has remained stable and falls within accepted quality limits.

This focus on dose, purity and oil stability is why Omega Care+ is selected as part of the practitioner-recommended range available through Vitality and Wellness.

Important Note: NatroVital Omega Care+ is a practitioner-formulated nutritional supplement designed to provide omega-3 fatty acids for general health and wellbeing. It is not listed with the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease. Only TGA-listed products are allowed to make therapeutic claims. We refer instead to the recognised role of omega-3 fatty acids in supporting everyday health. If you have questions about this product, please reach out to our clinic.

    Why Fish Oil Purity Matters

Fish oil quality is determined by more than just the amount of omega-3 it contains. The stability of the oil, the level of oxidation, and the absence of contaminants are equally important indicators of quality.

High quality fish oils are tested against recognised industry markers that assess oxidation levels, heavy metals and microbial safety. These tests help confirm the oil has been properly processed and stored, ensuring the omega-3 fatty acids remain stable and usable.

The fish oil used in Omega Care+ undergoes independent testing for oxidation stability, purity, heavy metals and microbial safety. The results shown below compare these values with recognised industry limits and demonstrate that the oil sits well below those limits, indicating a high level of purity and stability.

    Purity and Quality Testing

The table below shows the key quality markers from the certificate of analysis for the fish oil used in Omega Care+ and how they compare with recognised industry limits.

Quality Marker Industry Limit Omega Care+ Result
    Peroxide Value ≤5 meq/kg 2.7
    Acid Value ≤1.0 mg/g 0.67
    P-anisidine Value ≤20 8.4
Total Oxidation Value (TOTOX) ≤26 13.8
    Lead ≤0.1 mg/kg <0.1 mg/kg
    Arsenic ≤0.1 mg/kg <0.1 mg/kg
    Mercury ≤0.1 mg/kg <0.1 mg/kg

    Why this matters:
Fish oil is sensitive to oxidation. As oxidation increases, the omega-3 fatty acids in the oil begin to break down, which can reduce quality and freshness. The peroxide, acid value, p-anisidine and TOTOX tests are used to measure this process. Lower values indicate the oil has remained stable and well preserved, helping ensure the omega-3 fats remain intact.

Our Commitment to Purity – What’s Inside Omega Care+

  • Common Omega Care + Questions

What is the recommended dosage for Omega Care+?

Take 1 to 2 capsules daily with food, or as directed by your healthcare practitioner.

How much EPA and DHA does each capsule contain?

Each capsule provides 500mg of EPA and 260mg of DHA, giving a combined 750mg of marine omega-3 fatty acids per capsule.

Why are EPA and DHA important?

EPA and DHA are the two main omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oil. They are considered essential fats because the body cannot manufacture them on its own and they must be obtained through diet. These omega-3 fats are incorporated into cell membranes throughout the body and play an important role in supporting cardiovascular health, brain function, vision, joint comfort and normal cellular activity.

When is the best time to take Omega Care+?

NatroVital Omega Care+ is best taken with food. Taking fish oil with a meal helps improve absorption and may reduce the chance of digestive discomfort or fishy aftertaste.

Many people choose to take their omega-3 supplements with breakfast or their main meal of the day. The most important factor is simply taking it consistently as part of a regular daily routine.

How long does it take for fish oil to work?

Omega-3 fatty acids gradually become incorporated into cell membranes throughout the body. Because this process occurs over time, benefits from fish oil supplementation are generally associated with consistent use over several weeks rather than immediate changes.

Regular intake allows EPA and DHA to accumulate within tissues where they contribute to normal cellular structure and function.

Can I combine NatroVital Omega Care+ with other supplements?

Yes. In clinic, fish oil is often combined with other supplements depending on the individual goal. Omega-3 fatty acids work particularly well alongside nutrients and herbs that support healthy inflammatory balance, antioxidant protection and everyday nutritional support.

    Common pairings include:

    • Inflammatory Support – herbal ingredients traditionally used to help support joint comfort and healthy inflammatory balance. Omega-3 fatty acids are often used alongside these herbs as part of a comprehensive approach to inflammation support.
    • Antioxidant Support – provides plant antioxidants that help neutralise free radicals and support cellular health. Antioxidants and omega-3 fats are commonly used together to support overall tissue health.
    • Everyday Tonics – daily herbal tonics designed to support general wellbeing, energy and vitality. Omega-3 fatty acids complement these formulas as part of a broader approach to everyday health.

These combinations reflect a whole-body approach to health, where nutrients and herbal formulas work together to support multiple systems in the body.

If you're unsure which products may be suitable for you, please speak with your healthcare practitioner.

Why choose NatroVital over other supplement brands?

NatroVital is a proudly Australian-owned and operated business founded by Greg Newson — a qualified naturopath, herbalist and nutritionist with over 20 years of clinical experience. The formulas focus on practical dosing, clean ingredients and product quality.

With Omega Care+, that means providing a meaningful amount of EPA and DHA in a formula that also places strong emphasis on purity and oxidation control. Rather than relying on marketing claims, the focus is placed on measurable quality markers and ingredient transparency.

All NatroVital products are developed with a practitioner mindset and produced in small batches with a strong focus on purity, clarity and trust.

What do peroxide, acid, p-anisidine and TOTOX values mean?

These are recognised quality markers used to assess fish oil stability. Peroxide value measures early oxidation. P-anisidine measures later-stage oxidation. TOTOX combines these values to give an overall indication of oxidation. Acid value reflects the level of oil breakdown. Together they provide a practical picture of fish oil freshness and stability.

Why does oxidation matter in fish oil?

Fish oil is sensitive to oxidation. As oxidation increases, the omega-3 fatty acids in the oil — particularly EPA and DHA — can begin to break down. This reduces the quality of the oil and may lower the amount of active omega-3 fats available. Measuring oxidation markers helps confirm whether the oil has remained stable during processing and storage.

Is Omega Care+ tested for heavy metals?

Yes. The fish oil is tested for heavy metals including lead, arsenic and mercury. In the certificate of analysis for this batch, each of these metals was reported at less than 0.1 mg/kg, indicating the oil falls within recognised safety limits.

Is Omega Care+ tested for microbes?

Yes. The fish oil is screened for microbial quality including total aerobic microbial count, mould and yeast, and bacteria such as E. coli and Salmonella. Testing confirmed these were either not detected or present at very low levels within recognised safety limits.

Does Omega Care+ contain fillers, preservatives or artificial additives?

No. Omega Care+ is formulated without binders, fillers, artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.

    Does this product contain fish?

Yes. Omega Care+ contains fish oil and is not suitable for people with fish or seafood allergies.

Are there any precautions or interactions to be aware of?

Omega-3 fatty acids from fish oil are widely used as part of a healthy diet. However, as with any supplement, additional care may be appropriate in certain situations.

Anticoagulant & Antiplatelet Medications: Fish oil may influence blood clotting pathways and could have additive effects when taken alongside medications such as warfarin, aspirin, clopidogrel or similar blood-thinning drugs. If you are taking these medications, seek advice from your healthcare practitioner before use.

Surgery: Because omega-3 fatty acids can influence platelet function, it is generally recommended to discontinue fish oil supplements around 7 days prior to scheduled surgery unless otherwise advised by your healthcare practitioner.

If you are taking prescription medication or managing a chronic condition, seek advice from a qualified healthcare practitioner before starting any new supplement.

Is Omega Care+ a therapeutic medicine?

NatroVital Omega Care+ is a practitioner-formulated nutritional supplement designed to provide omega-3 fatty acids for general health and wellbeing. It is not listed with the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

In Australia, only products listed or registered with the TGA are permitted to make therapeutic claims. We therefore refer to the recognised nutritional role of omega-3 fatty acids in supporting general health and wellbeing.

Why isn’t Omega Care+ listed with the TGA?

We have chosen not to list Omega Care+ with the Therapeutic Goods Administration so we can continue producing in smaller batches and maintain close control over formulation and product quality. TGA listing also brings additional regulatory costs and restrictions on language.

We prefer to remain practitioner-formulated, small-batch and transparent about how nutrients have traditionally been used to support health. This helps ensure the purity, potency and purpose of each product remains intact.

At Vitality and Wellness we prioritise practitioner-quality supplements chosen for formulation integrity, ingredient transparency and real-world clinical experience.
